WWE NXT Preview October 1: First Show On The CW Network

A new era begins on WWE NXT.

A new era of WWE NXT begins.

Airing live from Chicago, the October 1st episode will see the show premiere on the CW Network, which will be the new home for the brand for at least the next 5 years in the United States. As teased by Shawn Michaels ahead of time, expect there to be a new look and feel to the brand as a result of the network change, similar to what happened to SmackDown when the show moved to the USA Network on September 13th.

Two major title matches have been announced for the show. In what is likely going to be the main event, Trick Williams looks to become a 2-time champion as he challenges Ethan Page for the title. To raise the stakes, CM Punk will serve as the special guest referee in the match.

The other title match that will take place will see Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez put her title on the line against Giulia, who made her long-awaited debut at No Mercy.

Multiple main roster stars have also been announced to appear live, including Women’s Tag Team Champions Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair.

The Following Matches And Segments Have Been Announced For WWE NXT:

  • Ethan Page (c) vs. Trick Williams – Singles match for the NXT Championship. CM Punk will serve as special guest referee
  • Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Giulia – Singles match for the NXT Women’s Championship
  • Wes Lee vs. Zachary Wentz – Street fight
  • Lola Vice & Jaida Parker vs. Fatal Influence [Jacy Jayne, Jazmyn Nyx, or Fallon Henley]
  • MizTV featuring the contract signing between North American Champion Oba Femi and challenger Tony D’Angelo
  • Special appearances by Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair
