WWE Money in the Bank looks set to be held overseas for the third consecutive year.
Set for a return for the 16th time in the summer, Money in the Bank is seen as one of the biggest shows of the year due to the titular ladder matches that guarantee the winners a World Championship match at any time. With the show taking place in London, England in 2023 and in Toronto, Canada the following year, fans around the world are hoping that when the announcement is made the Premium Live Event will come to their city.
While WWE has confirmed the host cities for Elimination Chamber, WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Clash in Paris, the Money in the Bank announcement is expected soon, likely before WrestleMania. Discussing the upcoming Premium Live Event on Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass podcast, WrestleVotes stated that discussions have been made to have the show take place internationally once more:
“So, in an update from this week’s show with Bill Apter here on Tuesday night’s backstage pass, we can confirm WWE has had discussions of hosting this year’s Money in the Bank from an international location in early July. However, our source states nothing is said at this time. Currently on the books for WWE internationally include a Saudi Arabia date in June, as well as the Clash in Paris PLE announced for August that WrestleMania broke last week.”
What Happened At WWE Money In The Bank 2024?
The 2024 event saw a mixed night for Drew McIntyre, who looked to win back the World Heavyweight Championship he only held for 5 minutes at WrestleMania. While McIntyre was able to capture the briefcase, The Scottish Warrior unsuccessfully cashed in his contract later in the night during the match between champion Damian Priest and challenger Seth Rollins. McIntyre lost the match thanks to an interfering CM Punk.
The women’s match was much more successful for winner Tiffany Stratton, who cashed in her briefcase on the first SmackDown of 2025 to win her first title on the main roster, maintaining the perfect success rate of the Women’s Money in the Bank contract.
In the main event of Money in the Bank 2024, Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga defeated Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens and Randy Orton.
