WWE’s Money in the Bank pay per view will take place on July 18th and will have fans in attendance. The company recently announced that they will be resuming live events in July, with the first event being the go-home episode of SmackDown for the event.
The event will take place Sunday July 18th at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. With the exception of WrestleMania 37, this will be the first WWE pay per view event with fans in attendance since Elimination Chamber 2020, which took place on March 8th. Hell in a Cell has been announced for June, but this will take place inside the WWE ThunderDome. Both the go-home SmackDown and RAW fallout episodes will also feature fans in attendance for the event.
The event is most known for the Money in the Bank Ladder match, with recent years including both a men’s a women’s version of the match. In the contest, the entrants all battle for possession of a briefcase. Inside the briefcase is a contract which guarantees the winner a title match of their choosing whenever they want it. More often than not, the holder is successful with their cash in, and becomes the new champion.
With last year’s event taking place during the ongoing pandemic, superstars battled through WWE headquarters for the briefcases. The match ended on the roof of the building in Stamford, Connecticut.
