Tony Khan Has Talked With Goldberg

Could Goldberg become All Elite in the near future?

The former WCW and WWE star is now officially a free agent after his contract with WWE expired. Despite having a legendary career inside the ring, the former Universal Champion has not had an official retirement match. This is something that Goldberg is looking to put right, having discussed a farewell tour in various recent interviews.

With there now being multiple major wrestling promotions around the world, there is a chance that the WWE Hall of Famer could have his final matches in AEW. This is something that was asked to Tony Khan in the Double or Nothing post show media scrum.

Khan has confirmed that he has talked to Goldberg, with the AEW President not giving too much away as to the nature of the talks:

“Yeah, I have talked to Bill. It wouldn’t be that unusual. I’ve talked to Bill when he’s not been under contract at times, and I have a good relationship with Bill. I have had a good conversation with him, but I’ve had a lot of great conversations with Bill. His family has done a lot of great things in Jacksonville, he’s related to the Wolfson family, who built the Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville. Bill is a great former football star, I worked in football, and it’s a big part of my life. We have a lot in common and we have a lot of mutual friends, and I have a really good relationship with Bill. I like him a lot. As to what I’ve talked to him about, I would say that’s just between the two of us. It was a good chat. I like Bill a lot, he’s a great guy,”

Goldberg’s final wrestling match to date was against Roman Reigns at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event in February 2022, where the Hall of Famer challenged The Tribal Chief to a match for the Universal Championship. Reigns would retain the title, winning the match via technical submission.
