TNA Star Elijah Talks Injury And Potential Return

TNA star Elijah, previously known as Elias in WWE, has given the fans an update on the nature of his injury and when he hopes to be back in the ring.

The pro wrestler and singer suffered a torn tricep back in June while competing in a match against Trick Williams. The move that caused the injury to the former WWE star was when he jumped off the top rope while executing The Undertaker’s old school dive.

While speaking with Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone, Elijah spoke about his injury and surgery, noting that his road to recovery is currently without any setbacks:

“I was on NXT TV a little over three months ago, wrestling against Trick Williams. I jumped off of the top rope, I landed in a bad way and I tore my tricep right off the bone. So I’ve got myself a nice little scar here now and a screw in my arm. Which, it is what it is in wrestling, but yeah, the rehab is coming along well.”

When Will Elijah Be Back In TNA?

Later in the interview, Elijah spoke about when fans may see him back on TV and inside the ring. The TNA star noted that ideally he hopes to be back for the Orlando, Florida Impact tapings from November 13-15, but noted that failing that he should be ok for the December 5-7 tapings in El Paso, Texas:

“I’m feeling pretty good right now. But ultimately, it’s a surgeon and doctor call for me,” he continued. “I am supposed to see them relatively soon. I’ve told them I want to be good to go by Orlando in, what do we got here, about three weeks? But again, it’s not ultimately my call.”

“If that was the case, if they gave me the go-ahead, I’m by in the mix and I’m good to go. And if not by Orlando, I’d love to do it by El Paso. And I think I’m at least healthy enough to play a song or smash somebody with a guitar if I have to.”

Although he did not compete at Bound For Glory, Elijah did make a cameo appearance. Shortly after the main event, which saw Mike Santana defeat Trick Williams to become the new World Champion, the Call Your Shot Gauntlet winner Nic Nemeth attempted to cash in his opportunity and spoil the celebrations. However, the lights went out as Nemeth made his entrance, leading to Elijah smashing a guitar over Nemeth.

In the interview, Elijah noted that the appearance was fun, but also a test on his recovery:

“At [Bound For Glory], I was healthy enough to smash somebody with a guitar, so that was fun,” Elijah said. “I had to test [my arm out], see if it could handle it.”

Features of Wrestling would like to wish Elijah a full and speedy recovery.
