The stars of TNA made their presence felt in a huge way on the September 23 episode of WWE NXT.
The main event of the show saw a winner take all match take place between NXT Champion Oba Femi and TNA World Champion Trick Williams. During the match, Williams confronted TNA star Mike Santana, which was followed by a slap. Santana then attacked Williams, resulting in the match ending in a DQ and with the 2 championships still on the respective wrestlers. Shortly afterwards, TA stars stormed the ring and a brawl ensued to close out the show. TNA stars who made guest appearances on the show included Matt Cardona, Moose, Eric Young, Xia Brookside, Lei Ying Lee, Victoria Crawford, Steve Maclin, Steph De Lander, Mance Warner, Cedric Alexander, and Zachary Wentz.
Backstage footage of Shawn Michaels was also released, which saw the Hall of Famer attempt to restore order:
TNA Stars Make Feelings Known After Previous Frustration With WWE NXT Partnership
Fans anticipated something was going to happen involving the TNA roster after multiple stars took to social media and expressed their storyline frustration with the lack of opportunities as a result of the ongoing partnership between both sides. Back in January, it was announced that the talent exchange would continue for years to come, meaning that more surprise appearances are expected moving forward.
