Swerve Strickland is remaining All Elite for the foreseeable future.
Appearing in a pre-recorded segment on the AEW All In pre-show, the World Champion met with Tony Khan and signed a new contract. Strickland first joined the company in 2022 at the Revolution pay-per-view and has also previously reigned as the Tag Team Champion alongside Keith Lee.
A couple of days before the show, Strickland stated in an interview with Barstool Rasslin’ that he was in negotiations with AEW to secure a new deal:
“I’ve always said me winning the AEW World Championship was phase two. That was the beginning of phase two of my career. Right now, I’m in the midst of like a renegotiation stage because I’m really enjoying my status here in AEW, I’m enjoying everything about the locker room, the roster, the talent, the promotion. I love the fact that I’m a really big part of building the company to different revenue, different avenues and things like that, as far as AEW. So that’s going to be the beginning of phase three of my career, and this is truly just the beginning of what’s about to happen for me, not just the wrestling side but everything altogether as a performer.”
Swerve Strickland To Main Event All In
Following on from his loss to Sting and Darby Allin in a tag team coffin match the previous year, Strickland won the World Championship at Dynasty 2024. Continuing to reign as champion, Strickland will put the title on the line against Bryan Danielson in the main event of All In. If Danielson loses, he will retire from professional wrestling.
