Stephanie Vaquer has officially made her WWE debut by appearing live on the October 8th episode of NXT.
NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade appeared live on the show and gloated about the previous week, which saw Perez defeat Giulia and retain the title thanks to a returning Jade attacking Giulia when the referee was distracted.
The segment was interrupted by Giulia, who was invited into the ring by Jade. With Vaquer appearing alongside Giulia, the two international stars obliged and stood tall over Perez and Jade. Both held the Women’s Championship to close out the segment and make it clear that they both want a title match against Perez soon.
Also on the show, Tony D’Angelo defeated Oba Femi to become the new North American Champion.
Who Is Stephanie Vaquer?
A standout in CMLL and NJPW, Vaquer previously held the Women’s Championship in CMLL and the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship. Over the past year, Vaquer became more well known to casual fans thanks to her appearances in New Japan and AEW, which saw her drop the Strong Women’s title to Mercedes Mone at Forbidden Door in what was her final match before signing with WWE. Shawn Michaels later announced that Vaquer would be debuting on NXT soon and the former Women’s Champion has competed at non-televised events for the promotion.
Vaquer also won multiple tag team championships while teaming with Zeuxis in CMLL and ranked 54th in the 2023 PWI Women’s 250.
