Statements Issued Regarding Vince McMahon Allegations

Vince McMahon

Multiple parties have issued statements in regard to the Vince McMahon controversy.

On January 26th, a disturbing lawsuit was filed which alleged that Vince McMahon committed multiple acts of sexual assault on a former WWE employee. The lawsuit contained graphic details of events that took place and also named John Laurinaitis and a top WWE star as being involved in the multiple assaults.

With the serious allegations known to the world, multiple sources have since responded in statements to the media.

TKO Holdings, the parent company of WWE, released the following statement to various news outlets in response to the allegations [obtained from Variety]:

“Mr. McMahon does not control TKO nor does he oversee the day-to-day operations of WWE. While this matter predates our TKO executive team’s tenure at the company, we take Ms. Grant’s horrific allegations very seriously and are addressing this matter internally.”

A spokesperson for McMahon has also commented, stating that the accusations are not true in any way, shape or form [obtained from Deadline]:

“This lawsuit is replete with lies, obscene made-up instances that never occurred, and a vindictive distortion of the truth. He will vigorously defend himself.”

Vince McMahon Allegations Could Affect WWE Plans

As seen in the lawsuit filed, a top WWE star is a part of the allegations. While not directly named, select media outlets and fans believe to have figured out who the unnamed star is. As a result, their predicted return at the WWE Royal Rumble is now unlikely to be taking place.
