The fourth time was the charm for Seth Rollins as he secured a major victory over rival and former ally Cody Rhodes.
Competing in the main event of Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia, The Visionary stood tall over The American Nightmare after previously trying to secure that win 3 times. With highlights including a coast-to-coast from Rollins, a top rope Spanish Fly and a Cross Rhodes from the top rope, the closing moments of the match saw Rollins strike Rhodes in the head with a wrist watch, followed by a stomp and a second rope stomp to pick up the clean victory.
After the match, Triple H presented the title and Crown Jewel ring to Rollins, and Rollins also cut a promo about his victory, noting that there is only one man who reached higher than the highest, declaring himself to be the greatest of all time. Rollins posed in the ring with Women’s Crown Jewel Champion Stephanie Vaquer to close out the main show.
On top of the victory, World Heavyweight Champion Rollins also captured the Crown Jewel Championship as he defeated WWE Champion Rhodes. Back in 2024, Rhodes became the inaugural Crown Jewel Champion by defeating Gunther.
Seth Rollins Gets The Win He Wanted Over Cody Rhodes
Prior to Crown Jewel, Rollins famously lost to Rhodes 3 times in a row. The first loss came at WrestleMania 38 when Rhodes was revealed to be Rollins’ surprise opponent in what was Rhodes’ first match back in the company after first leaving WWE back in 2016. As Rollins felt that he had an unfair shot at Rhodes the first time around, the 2 battled once more at Backlash the following month, which Rhodes once again emerged victorious.
The final match of the trilogy occurred at Hell in a Cell inside the titular structure. Despite the fact that Rhodes suffered a torn pec heading into the match, The American Nightmare still competed and defeated Rollins for the third time in a row. After Rhodes took time away to recover from the torn pec, which required surgery, the two later became allies on the road to WrestleMania 40, which saw them team up against The Rock and Roman Reigns in the main event of night 1, followed by Rollins helping Rhodes finish the story the following night.
