There are now only one set of Women’s Tag Team Titles in WWE.
As seen on the June 23rd episode of SmackDown, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler defeated then NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre to become the unified champions.
The match was won with Rousey and Baszler using simultaneous submissions on the former champions, causing the tap out victory.
As mentioned in the entrances, the titles can be defended on all 3 WWE brands, Raw SmackDown and NXT. The tease on commentary indicates that Rousey may be making her NXT debut in the near future.
After the match, Liv Morgan made a surprise return to SmackDown, following an injury causing the former SmackDown Women’s Champion to be side-lined. Morgan and partner Raquel Rodriguez were previously tag team champions, but had to vacate the titles due to Morgan’s aforementioned injury.
