R-Truth Released By WWE

R-Truth has made the shock announcement that he has been released from his WWE contract. 

Truth broke the news on social media on June 1st, informing fans what had happened while also thanking everyone who supported him and believed in him over the course of his career:

Im sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE. I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride, Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you 🙏🏾

Truth last competed on the May 30th episode of SmackDown, losing to JC Mateo following a backstage interaction earlier that night. Truth also competed against John Cena on the May 24th edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, which saw the former United States Champion dress up as Cena to pay homage to his childhood hero.

Truth is the latest WWE star to be released in 2025, following on from multiple main roster and NXT departures occurring back in early May and at the start of the year.

R-Truth No Longer With WWE

One of the most entertaining acts on the whole roster, Truth made a name for himself in the company thanks to his hilarious antics that made the fans laugh and those involved break character. Finding championship success, Truth captured the United States and Tag Team Championships during his second run in the company. Additionally, Truth held the 24/7 Championship a record 54 times and became the wrestler most famous with the title that was mainly used for comedic purposes.
