New Women's North American Champion Crowned At WWE NXT Stand & Deliver

The Women’s North American Championship is no longer vacant following the events that took place at WWE NXT Stand & Deliver.

At the Premium Live Event, Sol Ruca defeated Thea Hail, Izzi Dame, Lola Vice, Kelani Jordan and Zaria in a six-woman ladder match to become the new champion. The match was filled with big moments, including interference from The Culling and Izzi Dame being thrown off the ladder onto the faction along with multiple big ladder bumps. The closing moments of the match saw tag team partners Ruca and Zaria on top of the ladder, realising that they had to fight it out to win the championship. After both were dumped off the ladder, Ruca hit a series of Sol Snatchers before climbing back up the ladder to win the match and the title.

The victory capped off a big week for Ruca, who also won the Women’s Speed Championship earlier in the week.

Why Was The WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship Vacated?

Back at Roadblock, then Women’s North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer defeated NXT Women’s Champion Giulia to become a double champion. After defending both titles, a decision was made by General Manager Ava to have Vaquer only hold one championship so that both titles could be defended fairly. Vaquer vacated the championship on April 1st and Ava announced that 6 contenders would fight for the title in a ladder match at the PLE.

Vaquer also vacated the championship under the condition that she could choose her opponent for the NXT Women’s Championship at Stand & Deliver. The following week, Vaquer stated that she wanted Giulia, Jordynne Grace and Jaida Parker to be her opponents.
