The host city for WWE WrestleMania 42 may have been revealed over a year ahead of time.
With the biggest show of 2025 set to take place in Las Vegas on April 19th and 20th, fans are curious as to where the next Mania will take place. With the 2026 Royal Rumble announced for Saudi Arabia and with WWE looking to continue its worldwide presence, the possibilities for the host city are more open than ever before. However, according to a new report, the favourite host city is one that has presented WrestleMania numerous times before.
As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, New Orleans is currently the frontrunner. Additionally, WrestleVotes heavily implied that New Orleans would be the host city as a “press event, which is said to include a significant announcement in the near future” is due to take place in the near future.
However, things can always change depending on numerous factors. As was seen in 2024, the city of Minneapolis originally thought that they would be hosting Mania 41 but the company instead pivoted to have the show take place in Vegas.
When Has New Orleans Hosted WWE WrestleMania?
WWE has presented 2 WrestleManias in the city of New Orleans in its 40-year history. In 2014 and 2018, the show aired live from the Mercedes Benz SuperDome. While fans were very happy with the main event of WrestleMania 30 that saw Daniel Bryan emerge victorious in the main event, the same could not be said for the main event 4 years later, which saw an underwhelming Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns match take place.
