WWE has loaded up the card for next week’s NXT Homecoming special, which will air live from Full Sail in Orlando, Florida.
On the September 9 episode of the show, multiple surprise appearances occurred with stars from Raw and SmackDown who first made their names in NXT before being called up to the main roster and finding success on the grander stage.
The first was former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes, who provided backup for TNA World Champion Trick Williams after Williams had a face-off with DIY the previous week. Following another back and forth, it was announced that the two tag teams would be facing off the following week.
Having challenged Oba Femi for the NXT Championship at multiple live events over the past weekend, Grayson Waller will once again make his return to the ring to host another edition of The Grayson Waller Effect, which will see Femi and Ricky Saints as guests.
The closing segment of the show saw Jacy Jayne berate the fans and Fatal Influence, adding that she was the greatest NXT Women’s Champion of all time. Shortly afterwards, former NXT Women’s Champions Rhea Ripley, Tiffany Stratton and Stephanie Vaquer all made their way onto the stage, unhappy with Jayne’s comments. The main roster stars cleared the ring of Fatal Influence, with it later being announced that a six woman tag match would be taking place the following week at Homecoming.
More surprise appearances are also expected for the special, as Triple H, Bobby Roode and William Regal were all teased during a commercial that played in what looks set to be a major celebration of the brand.
