AEW’s top champion MJF may have to take time away.
In a now deleted post on social media, MJF announced that he has a torn labrum but will still compete at Worlds End, where the title will be on the line against Samoa Joe.
More details have been revealed on the nature of the injury via Fightful Select. It is reported that the injury was caused during the top rope Uranage spot at Full Gear. It is also reported that MJF is undergoing treatment but is hoping to avoid surgery.
This was not the only injury that the AEW World Champion suffered at Full Gear. It was also reported that MJF suffered a hip injury when diving to the outside onto Jay White. The spot was meant to have the announce table break the fall, but it collapsed beforehand, meaning that MJF landed on the floor.
Having held the title for over a year, many fans are hoping that MJF does not have to surrender the title in this way.
