New Japan legend Minoru Suzuki made an unannounced appearance at the AEW All Out pay per view on September 5th. Suzuki targeted Jon Moxley in the NOW Arena and brawled with the former AEW World Champion, leaving Moxley unconscious following a piledriver.
Jon Moxley was originally in action on the All Out pay per view to face Satoshi Kojima. After a very physical bout, Moxley defeated the New Japan star with two Paradigm Shifts. Following the victory, Moxley’s music was cut off to the sound of “Kaze Ni Nare,” the entrance music used by Minoru Suzuki in NJPW.
The former IWGP Intercontinental champion traded strikes with Jon Moxley and stood tall following the brawl. It should be noted that Minoru Suzuki and Jon Moxley have previous history and have faced off in New Japan. Back in February 2020, Moxley defended his IWGP United States Championship against Minoru Suzuki at The NJPW New Beginning pay per view. In this match, Jon Moxley was victorious.
A rematch has been set for the September 8th episode of Dynamite, as part of the Jon Moxley homecoming edition of AEW’s flagship show.
