Matt Hardy Hopes For Jeff Hardy’s Return To Canada, Says They’re “Actively Working” To Lift Ban

Matt Hardy Says Jeff Hardy's Return To Canada Is Something That Is Being Worked On

Matt Hardy has discussed his brother Jeff Hardy not being able to compete in Canada and how they are hoping to change that.

TNA Under Siege took place on May 23rd in Brampton, Ontario, Canada and saw Matt team with Leon Slater to unsuccessfully challenge The Nemeths for the Tag Team Championships. Jeff Hardy did not compete at the show or the tapings that followed as he is unable to enter Canada due to past legal issues.

Hardy’s inability to compete was referenced on TV as opposed to writing him off with a storyline injury, which Jeff wanted to be open about.

Speaking about the past weekend on his Extreme Life podcast, Matt thanked the fans and remained optimistic that his brother would one day be able to Canada:

“We did. It was an extremely busy weekend. It started off on Friday. We had the Under Siege premium live event, which aired on the TNA streaming system. It was a hell of a show. It was sold out, 3000-plus, a little over 3000 people in the house, packed out the venue. They’re really nice. It was a great crowd. It was great to be in front of a Toronto-like crowd. I feel like this crowd, they were good, but they made you work for it a little bit too. So they appreciate hard work. They appreciate hard effort. That’s what that crowd felt like, and they were great all night long.

“So, Brampton, thank you very much. You guys came out in huge numbers. You were super passionate. Both nights of my post-show meet-and-greets, you were great as well. It was so nice talking to so many of you, and so many of you are excited for Jeff Hardy to one day be back in Canada, and that’s something that we are actively working on now. So we’re hoping this will be something that happens sooner rather than later.”

How Many Times Has Matt Hardy Been A Tag Team Champion?

Regarded as one of, if not the greatest tag team of all time, The Hardys influenced a generation with their high-flying style that also brought them a lot of championship success. In WWE, TNA and ROH alone, Matt and Jeff Hardy won the Tag Team Championships 13 times. Matt also won the tag titles with Bray Wyatt and MVP while in WWE.

H/t to Fightful.
