Ricochet is still expected to join AEW and a new update has been provided in regards to the progression of the talks.
After choosing to not sign a new contract after so many of his peers had elected to re-sign new deals, the high-flyer officially became a free agent on July 1st and has been moved to the alumni section on the WWE roster page. With AEW being the most logical next step for Ricochet, many feel that it is a matter of when and not if the former WWE star becomes All Elite. According to a new update by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Richochet’s agent was backstage at the AEW Dynamite taping on July 3rd in Chicago and was said to be “leading the subsequent talks between the two sides.” It should also be noted that the agent is also a representative of multiple parties in both WWE and AEW.
It is also noted that there were no plans to feature the former Intercontinental Champion on Forbidden Door as the pay-per-view took place while he was still under contract with WWE.
Ricochet Written Off TV
Tying up loose ends instead of choosing to not feature the former WWE star, Ricochet was attacked by Bron Breakker on the June 10th episode of Raw and slammed onto the windscreen of a car. Exiting the arena in the back of an ambulance, WWE later provided the storyline update that the high-flyer would be absent until further notice.
