LAPD Investigating Raja Jackson Incident At Wrestling Show

The Los Angeles Police Department have reportedly gotten involved in the controversial Raja Jackson incident that went viral online, horrifying fans in the process.

On August 23, Jackson, who is the son of MMA fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, ran into the ring and attacked Syko Stu at KnokX Experience. After first delivering a slam to Stu, Jackson then hit the wrestler with multiple unprotected punches to the head, leaving Stu unconscious in the ring. With Stu left unable to defend himself, Jackson hit a total of 21 punches, resulting in the wrestler being hospitalised. It has since been reported that while the slam spot was planned, the punches were not.

Thousands of fans condemned Jackson for what took place, with many calling for him to be prosecuted over the incident that was caught on camera, with veteran wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer describing what took place as, “Perhaps the most horrible thing I’ve ever seen in a wrestling ring.”

As reported by TMZ the following day, the LAPD were called following the sickening incident and it is now being investigated. The report also provides an update on Stu, with one insider stating that the wrestler is “fine and recovering.”

Statements Issued On Raja Jackson Incident

The next day, KnokX Pro Wrestling issued a statement over what took place,

First and foremost our thoughts and prayers are with our brother Mr. Stuart Smith [Syko Stu] as he remains a priority and we are monitoring his well being. What was supposed to be a planned and agreed upon wrestling spot, turned into a selfish, irresponsible act of violence against Mr. Smith. This egregious act is reprehensible and never should have occurred. In the 17 years of operation of KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy, there has never been anything as heinous take place such as this and we apologize to our patrons and fans.”

WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi owns the promotion and also has WWE ID accreditation.
Raja’s father Quinton Jackson has also commented on what took place:
I want to clear up the misinformation about my son Raja. I’ve been confirmed that the wrestler ( Stewart Smith aka Syko Stu) is awake and stable. Raja was unexpectedly hit in the side of the head by him moments before Smith’s match, Raja was told that he could get his “payback”in the ring,i thought it was apart of the show. It was bad judgement, and a work that went wrong. Raja is a MMA fighter not a pro wrestler and had no business involved in an event like this. I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL! He suffered a concussion from sparring only days ago and had no business doing anything remotely close to physical contact. As a father, im deeply concerned with his health AND the well being of Mr. Smith. That being said I’m very upset that any of this happened, but my main concern now is that Mr. Smith will make a speedy recovery.I apologize on his behalf and to KICK for the situation.
There has been no statement from Raja at the time of writing.
