Kris Statlander Admits Hardest Bump She Took Wasn't In Extreme AEW Match

AEW Women’s Champion Kris Statlander has revealed the hardest bump she has ever taken, and it’s not the one that most fans would be thinking of.

The top champion in All Elite Wrestling has been part of a number of notable matches for the promotion over the past year, including the first-ever Women’s Blood and Guts match. The violent affair saw Statlander land on a bed of nails during the bout in what was one of the most uncomfortable moments during the match However, according to Statlander, this was not the worst bump she has taken in her career.

While speaking with TMZ Sportsthe reigning Women’s Champion noted that a botched spot on the independents was the worst landing that she had taken:

“I wouldn’t say it’s the bed of nails, which is probably what everybody’s thinking. There was one time on the independents, I took a power bomb that was supposed to be onto the apron, but the person lost their balance and I kind of went headfirst onto the hardwood floor. That one was very painful, and then I had to do like 15 more minutes of wrestling after that.”

Statlander also confirmed in the interview that she has had zero diagnosed concussions, but admitted that there have been multiple times where she has landed badly on her head.

When Did Kris Statlander Win The AEW Women’s Championship?

Statlander was the surprise winner in the Women’s Title 4-way match at All Out 2025, which saw her defeat Toni Storm, Jamie Hayter and Thekla to win the title for the first time in her career. Since then, Statlander has successfully retained her championship against the likes of Thekla, Mercedes Mone and Jamie Hayter in singles matches. Statlander is due to defend her title against Thekla in a strap match on the February 11 episode of AEW Dynamite.
