John Laurinaitis Claims To Be A Victim In Vince McMahon Lawsuit: “The Truth Will Come Out”

John Laurinaitis

John Laurinaitis’ attorney has issued a statement in regards to the Vince McMahon lawsuit.

On January 25th, Vince McMahon was accused of sex trafficking and multiple accounts of sexual assault by former WWE employee Janel Grant. The horrific allegations would lead to Vince McMahon ultimately resigning from his position as WWE Executive Chairman and would no longer be on the TKO Board of Directors following significant pressure when major sponsor Slim Jim paused their partnership with the company.

As is detailed in the 67-page lawsuit, multiple executives and an unnamed talent are implicated. The only two names that are explicitly mentioned are Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis, who previously served as Head of Talent Relations in WWE before being fired from the company in 2022.

In the lawsuit, Laurinaitis is named on multiple occasions when discussing the allegations of sexual assault and was also the recipient of sexual content that Grant was forced to make. With McMahon and TKO Holdings previously making statements about the lawsuit, Laurinaitis has aslo issued a statement.

John Laurinaitis Issues Statement Via Attorney

Laurinaitis’ attorney Attorney Edward Brennan has issued a statement on behalf of Laurinaitis to VICE News on February 1st. Lauriniaitis not only denies the allegations but also believes he is a victim in this case, blaming Vince McMahon entirely:

“Mr. Laurinaitis denies the allegations in the misguided complaint and will be vigorously defending these charges in Court, not the media. Like the Plaintiff, Mr. Laurinaitis is a victim in this case, not a predator. The truth will come out.”

When asked for clarification by VICE, Brennan said the following:

“Read the allegations. Read the Federal Statute. Power, control, employment supervisory capacity, dictatorial sexual demands with repercussions if not met. Count how many times in the complaint Vince exerts control over both of them.”
