John Cena appears to be thinking about calling time on his wrestling career.
One of the few Ruthless Aggression stars to still be competing in 2023, Cena has had at least one main roster match a year every year since 2002. Now at 46 years old, the 16-time World Champion is very aware that he can’t take bumps forever and age is catching up with him.
Speaking with Namastey India Special, Cena discussed how much longer he thinks he is able to wrestle and how he feels honoured to still puts smiles on people’s faces 21 years later:
‘I’m leaning towards 50, and I don’t know how much longer I will be physically able to do it. I haven’t been here since 2006, this is the first time I’ve performed here and as my career hits the 21-year-old mark, I didn’t know if I was gonna have another chance. People talk about wanting to win championships, I just wanna spread the excitement that is WWE around the world and for me to call it a career without stopping in India would not have been right so I’m very very glad to be here. It means so much to me.”
John Cena will next compete at Fastlane, where he will team with LA Knight to take on Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa.
