John Cena may be regarded by WWE as the greatest of all time, but there is one period of his career that he wishes he could have done more with.
At WrestleMania 41, John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes to win his 17th World Championship. Now recognised as the most decorated champion in company history, Cena has come a long way from his memorable debut back in 2002.
Answering an open challenge from Kurt Angle, an unknown Cena famously yelled “Ruthless Aggression” and slapped the Olympic Gold Medalist. Although the debut was memorable and Cena impressed many in his first main roster match, from there it was into the unknown for the future Hollywood star.
Close to being fired before his pro wrestling journey officially began, Cena began his rise up the card with his Dr. of Thuganomics era, which saw the 17-time World Champion freestyle rap. While appearing at the Philadelphia Fan Expo, Cena admitted that he wished he could of replayed the first stage of his career as he felt that he could have done more with it:
“The time period I wish I had a do-over for was the Ruthless Aggression character. [Why was that?] I did nothing with it.”
When Will John Cena Wrestle Next?
After retaining the title against Randy Orton at Backlash thanks to an assist from R-Truth, Cena attacked Truth at the post-show press conference. On the next episode of SmackDown, it was announced that Truth would face his childhood hero at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
