John Cena Addresses His WWE Status In Regards To SAG-AFTRA Strike

John Cena has admitted that he will be departing WWE once the SAG-AFTRA strike comes to an end.

The 16-time World Champion had his latest match in WWE at Fastlane, teaming with LA Knight to defeat Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa. Now seen more often in Hollywood than WWE, Cena was asked about what will happen when the strikes in California reach their conclusion.

Speaking at the Fastlane Press Conference, Cena revealed that he can’t do both simultaneously and once a negotiation has been reached in Hollywood then he will go back to work:

“They do. I’ve made it clear that you can’t do both because of the liability insurance. If I were to try and juggle both, that’s very selfish because I would put a whole lot of people in the movie business out of work if something were to happen to me. Yes, I stopped a project in the middle of it — I can’t even talk about the project because of the strike, but we’re in the middle of it. As soon as we get back to work, we go back to work. I don’t control any of that. I’m crossing my fingers and I hope we can find a resolve everyone is happy with. For right now, I feel this is the best way I can help. To come back home to my family,”

John Cena returned to WWE at the start of September and has been advertised for 2 more episodes of SmackDown [October 20th and 27th]

H/t to Fightful.
