Joe Hendry did not get his match against John Cena, but he was able to make an appearance on the 17-time WWE Champion’s final show.
The Scottish wrestler was part of a segment shortly before Cena competed in his final match at the Saturday Night’s Main Event special on December 13. The Miz first interrupted the celebrations, protesting that he didn’t get a match against Cena even though he defeated the WWE legend in the main event of WrestleMania 27.
R Truth then interrupted Miz and called out the former WWE Champion for cheating his way back into the Last Time is Now Tournament. Truth then handed Miz the ball of the person who missed out, prompting Miz to say Joe Hendry’s name. Hendry’s music then hit and the former TNA World Champion appeared on the apron.
Miz and Truth then beat down Miz, delivering a double Five Knuckle Shuffle and a Standing Ovation, prompting Hendry to “pin” Miz as Truth counted the fall. Both men celebrated to bring the segment to a close.
With previous appearances in the Royal Rumble and a WrestleMania match against Randy Orton, this was the latest main roster segment that Hendry was a part of.
Joe Hendry Now Officially A Part Of WWE
Back in November, news broke that Hendry was now officially a part of the WWE roster following multiple appearances on NXT and the main roster as part of the ongoing relationship between the 2 promotions. In a recent interview, Hendry explained why he made the decision to sign with WWE at this stage of his career.
