Janel Grant's Attorney Files Motion To Amend Vince McMahon Lawsuit, New Evidence Detailed

Janel Grant’s team has filed the amended complaint in the lawsuit against Vince McMahon, Joh Laurinatis and WWE.

On January 31st, Grant’s team filed the amendment in the ongoing lawsuit that accuses McMahon of sexual abuse and trafficking. John Laurinaitis and WWE are also named as defendants in the case with Lauriantis being implicated as being part of the abuse and WWE having knowledge of the alleged abuse.

The 104-page amended lawsuit, which can be read here, includes new text messages and transcripts along with further details of the alleged sexual abuse. One of the most significant changes is that Brock Lesnar is now named multiple times in the document, whereas previously he was referenced as “A world-famous athlete and former UFC Heavyweight Champion with whom WWE was actively trying to sign to a new contract.”

Another notable change is that producer Michael Hayes is also named as part of the amendment, where it is stated “In or about September 2020, McMahon instructed Ms. Grant to create customized pornographic content for producer Michael Hayes and his crew.”

The lawsuit also names Nick Khan as WWE Corporate Officer No. 1 and Brad Blum as WWE Corporate Officer No. 2. Another additional detail includes a statement from Grant where she did not feel as though she could quit her job in WWE and walk away:

“Immersion in the Legal department demonstrated to Ms. Grant the highly reactive, even retaliatory, nature of WWE such that she felt increasingly trapped,”

The suit also alleges that McMahon would conceal the alleged abuse by referring to Janel Grant in emails as “Thomas Grant.” There are also new screenshots of messages that include more graphic details of what men wanted to do to her.

Referencing the NDA, Grant stated that it was signed “under duress and/or as a result of fraudulent inducement engaged in by McMahon, and the same is void as a matter of law.”

As part of a press release accompanying the amended complaint, Grant’s team summarised the changes:

  • McMahon offered Ms. Grant to WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar for a sexual encounter during his formal negotiation of a new contract with WWE, and McMahon ordered Ms. Grant to send Lesnar sexually explicit content of herself.
  • McMahon sent a text message to Ms. Grant, where he fantasizes in graphic detail about watching as a group of men are “surrounding” her and leaving her physically “wrecked,” underscoring how he viewed her as a commodity to offer to others.
  • A text message from McMahon to Ms. Grant where he makes clear that only McMahon has the power to “arrange” Ms. Grant’s sexual encounters.
  • An occasion where McMahon video recorded Ms. Grant while nude for Laurinaitis, without Ms. Grant’s knowledge or consent.
  • Details about the sham investigation WWE proclaimed to conduct in 2022 after it became public that McMahon signed NDAs with multiple women, in which “investigators” refused to interview Ms. Grant.
  • The transcript of a voice message from McMahon to Ms. Grant, where he attempts to coerce her into signing an NDA “really f***in’ fast” so he doesn’t get kicked out of his own “f***in’ company.”

Vince McMahon Attorney Responds To Latest Amendment

In response to the latest filing, McMahon’s attorney, Jessica Rosenberg, issued the following statement to POST Wrestling

“As expected, the proposed amended complaint is nothing more than the latest publicity stunt in an ongoing smear campaign. It is filled with desperate falsehoods from a team that continues to disregard the law and the truth,”

The allegations in the Vince McMahon lawsuit, which were filed in January 2024, led to the former Chairman resigning from all executive positions in WWE and TKO. McMahon has been erased from the company since and does not appear in video packages looking back at WWE history. McMahon’s face was also blurred out in video clips on the WWE 2K24 video game.
