Jade Cargill has captured the WWE Women’s Championship for the first time in her career.
At the latest Saturday Night’s Main Event special on November 1, Cargill defeated Tiffany Stratton to become the new Women’s Champion. Prior to the match, Stratton noted that she was dealing with knee issues, prompting General Manager Nick Aldis to ask if the champion still wanted to compete. The match went ahead, with Cargill hitting multiple powerbombs and Jaded onto Stratton to win the match and the championship.
The victory marks the end of Stratton’s reign at 302 days. The now former champion won the title back in January after cashing in her Money in the Bank contract on Nia Jax. Stratton previously defended the title against Cargill back at SummerSlam, but was unable to secure a second victory.
This was the first of 2 title changes to take place at Saturday Night’s Main Event, as CM Punk defeated Jey Uso in the main event to win the vacant World Heavyweight Championship.
Jade Cargill Adds Women’s Championship To Her WWE Record
Although this was Cargill’s first singles championship in WWE, the SmackDown star previously captured the Women’s Tag Team Championship twice with Bianca Belair. Additionally, Cargill won the 2025 Queen of the Ring tournament, which led to the aforementioned SummerSlam match against Stratton.
