Gunther’s next opponent for the Intercontinental Championship has been determined.
A Battle Royale took place on the May 15th episode of Raw, where the winner would go on to the Premium Live Event to challenge for the title currently held by The Ring General.
The final 4 came down to Matt Riddle, Mustafa Ali, Bronson Reed and Ricochet. Following interference from Imperium, Riddle was eliminated. Ricochet and Reed would find themselves on the apron, where Ali kicked them both to the mat to become the new number one contender.
The updated line-up for Night of Champions is as follows:
- Seth Rollins vs. AJ Styles – Singles match where the winner will be crowned the new World Heavyweight Champion
- Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes
- Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens (c) vs. Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa – Tag team match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships.
- Gunther (c) vs. Mustafa Ali – Singles match for the Intercontinental Championship.
