More than 7 months after the incident took place, AEW decided to air the footage of the infamous altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry that took place at All In.
Shortly after the main card of the Wembley Stadium show went on the air, news broke that a backstage incident had taken place between the two following comments that were made by Perry on the pre-show. Tony Khan also confirmed at the post-show press conference that an altercation did take place.
As time went on, the incident became lost in history as many had read the reports and had drawn their own conclusions on the matter. However, on the April 10th episode of Dynamite, the footage aired after being announced ahead of time.
The Young Bucks appeared backstage and provided some context. Promoting their upcoming match with FTR at AEW Dynasty, the former champions claimed that they still have wounds from All In that have not healed, which is why they wanted to talk about the footage now as opposed to after the incident took place. Naming Jack Perry but not Punk, calling him “the other individual”, he was also named as a friend of FTR and claimed that FTR were the masterminds behind the whole situation. The Bucks continued, stating that the locker room was in disarray after and it affected their match later in the night. Describing the incident as a “high school scrap”, The Bucks also claimed that it nearly took down the biggest show of all time before airing the footage.
With no audio playing, Punk and Perry are seen in the backstage area. Punk shoves Perry and the two briefly scuffle before it was broken up by Samoa Joe and Chris Hero. Punk also is seen leaning over monitors, which is where Khan was likely sat. Khan could not be seen in the footage. FTR responded that they and everyone else are sick and tired of talking about the footage and want to move on.
CM Punk Tells His Side Of The Story
The footage aired 8 days after CM Punk appeared on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, where he criticised AEW on a number of occasions. Along with criticism of Tony Khan and how AEW is run, CM Punk told his side of the All In altercation.
