Back in 2018, fans saw the first ever WWE Evolution pay-per-view.
The first and to this date only all women’s show in WWE, Evolution saw the stars of the women’s division given the night to show the world what they were capable of inside the squared circle. With stars from the past, present and future all competing on the show with an excellent Last Woman Standing match between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch along with Ronda Rousey defending the Women’s Championship in the main event, fans have been calling for a follow-up ever since.
With it being recently reported that Evolution 2 could be on the way, the WWE Women’s Division has changed substantially in the past 7 years with easily the most stacked roster in history across Raw, SmackDown and NXT. While there has been no confirmation that Evolution 2 will happen, there are definitely some exciting matches that could take place on the show.
Potential WWE Evolution Card
Tiffany Stratton vs. Trish Stratus For The WWE Women’s Championship
While Stratton and Stratus are on the same page at the time of writing and recently were victorious at Elimination Chamber, fans have been hoping to see Tiffy and Trishy clash ever since their interaction at Money in the Bank 2024. With the Hall of Famer still putting on great matches and Stratton continuing to be a star on the rise, this would likely be another great match during the latter years of Stratus’ career.
Chelsea Green vs. Naomi vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Michin vs. Masha Slamovich – Ultimate X Match For The Women’s United States Championship
With the WWE and TNA partnership alive and well, what better way to showcase the partnership and acknowledge the past than to have the current and former TNA Knockouts Champions fight it out in the match that made TNA famous? Jordynne Grace has been calling for the Ultimate X match to take place in WWE and with the potential for a lot of innovative spots, this could be a great way to introduce the stipulation to fans who have never seen it before and would easily be the most exciting match on the card.
Meiko Satomura vs. Bayley – Retirement Match
With Satomura being a legend in women’s wrestling and deserving of a fitting send-off, what better way than an event showcasing women’s wrestling and how far the business has come over the years? With Bayley as the opponent, a fellow ring general and a wrestler who has been constantly flying the flag for women to receive more opportunities and able to always put on a great match, it would be guaranteed that Satomura would bring her lengthy career to an end in style.
Liv Morgan And Raquel Rodriguez vs. Zaria And Sol Ruca For The Women’s Tag Team Championships
The top women’s tag team on the main roster colliding with a rising team in NXT. Along with the power battle between Zaria and Rodriguez, this would also give the NXT team a chance to shine in front of a main roster audience. Zaria and Ruca are clearly stars on the rise in a very stacked NXT women’s division and deserve a shot against 2 major main roster stars on a major WWE show who will no doubt be in the title picture soon.
Giulia vs. Asuka For The NXT Women’s Championship
The current NXT Women’s Champion vs. the longest reigning Women’s Champion in NXT history. Asuka was an unstoppable force in NXT and never lost the title as she vacated it due to injury and was later called up to the main roster. Never defeated on the brand, the story is there to see if The Empress could defeat The Beautiful Madness, and if Giulia is ready for Asuka.
Becky Lynch vs. Mickie James
Two stars who have been often overlooked in their careers as WWE has wanted to push other stars instead but making it to the top despite the odds, it would be great to see Lynch and James run back their previous series of matches in 2017, especially as Lynch has become one of the top stars in WWE since then. James deserves another marquee match in WWE before calling time on her career and there is no better place for the legend who has influenced so many stars of today than Evolution.
Lyra Valkyria vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Iyo Sky – Ladder Match For The Women’s Intercontinental Championship
Paying homage to the WrestleMania 10 Intercontinental Championship ladder match, placing Valkyria in a major stipulation match against two of the top stars in the division would elevate Valkyria and the championship in the process. With Sky’s skills in ladder matches and the threat of Flair adding to her championship record, this would be another great match to help establish Valkyria on the main roster.
Bianca Belair vs. Rhea Ripley For The Women’s World Championship
Arguably the biggest women’s match that has yet to happen on a WWE PLE, Belair and Ripley have crossed paths many times but have yet to face off to prove who really is the top star in the company right now. Ripley defeated Bianca Belair in NXT back in 2020 and Belair eliminated Ripley to win the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble, but both have risen up the card even further since then. Both deserving of the main event and being recognised as the top stars in the division, fans want to know who is the best in WWE right now.
