Calgary got a Rated R Surprise on the July 11th episode of SmackDown.
The Canadian fans erupted to a rapturous applause as Metalingus ran out through the arena and the Hall of Famer made his way to the ring in his come country.
Edge referenced the surprise appearance, stating that while his 25th anniversary show is next week in Toronto, he couldn’t resist coming to Calgary.
The former WWE Champion stated that he wants to have a match the following week, and he wants it against Sheamus, who was integral in Edge making his triumphant return at the Royal Rumble in 2020, recalling the training they both did to prepare.
The Rated R Superstar then introduced Sheamus to the ring, who showed the footage of Edge falling off of a mountain bike during his Celtic Warrior Workouts.
Following some banter between the two former World Champions, Sheamus acknowledged what a great mentor Edge has been to him, and agreed to the match on the next episode of SmackDown.
