One of the most iconic extreme wrestlers of all time, Sabu, has died at the age of 60.
The news was broken by Mike Johnson of PWInsider that the former ECW World Champion, real name Terry Brunk, has passed away. At the time of writing, there are no further details regarding the passing.
Sabu recently competed in his retirement match against Joey Janela at GCW Spring Break over WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas. The ECW legend defeated Janela in the no rope barbed wire match that also saw a cameo from The Sandman.
Extreme Legend Sabu Passes Away
One of the most legendary performers in ECW and in hardcore wrestling, Brunk captured the ECW World Championship twice along with multiple reigns as Tag Team and TV Champion. The extreme icon also had stints in WWE and TNA along with a cameo appearance in AEW during the feud between Adam Cole and Chris Jericho.
The nephew of “The Sheik” Ed Farhat, the former ECW World Champion became famous for his death-defying style and hardcore matches in the 90s that often featured a wide variety of weapons and barbed wire.
