Darby Allin Recalls Wildest Coffin Drop, It Didn't Take Place In AEW

AEW star Darby Allin has revealed his pick for the craziest Coffin Drop of his pro wrestling career, noting that it wasn’t one that was filmed.

In and out of AEW, Allin has made a name for himself by putting his body on the line in more and more wince-inducing situations. From diving through a pane of glass to being thrown down stairs and landing on the jagged part of the steel steps, fans have often expressed their concerns for Allin’s safety and often question how the former TNT Champion has repeatedly escaped serious injury.

On top of the many high-impact moves, Allin has also taken his Coffin Drop finisher to extreme heights to give his matches that big ending. However, when it comes to which one tops the list as being the craziest, it happened in his own home.

Speaking with Robbie Fox on My Mom’s Basement, Allin recalled the time he set himself on fire and jumped off a ladder:

“Oh, my God… I was filming at my house one time, I climbed a ladder and I set myself on fire and tried to, like, Coffin Drop off the ladder, but the ladder shook and then I… yeah, I’d say that probably was pretty bad. So it was outside of wrestling. Unfortunately, [it wasn’t filmed]. I was just messing around in my backyard that day.”

Extreme Coffin Drop And More Expected From Darby Allin At AEW WrestleDream

After losing to Jon Moxley in a coffin match at All Out back in September, Allin will once again face off against the leader of The Deathriders at WrestleDream on October 18, this time in an “I Quit” match. As Allin has teased that fire will be involved, even bringing a Molotov cocktail to the last episode of Dynamite, fans are expecting another crazy match to take place between the 2.
