Cody Rhodes is looking to round off the year in style.
In what has easily been the biggest year of his entire professional wrestling career, The American Nightmare won the 2024 Royal Rumble, main evented both nights of WrestleMania and defeated Roman Reigns in the final match of the weekend to finally finish the story and become the new WWE Champion. At the time of writing, Rhodes still reigns as the WWE Champion and is closing in on 8 months with the title.
When Rhodes won the championship, he made it clear that he would be a full-time champion and present at as many events as possible. Looking back at Rhodes’s 2024 matches, the champion has lived up to his word. As seen on Cagematch, Rhodes has competed in 96 matches since the start of the year, more than anyone else on the entire roster. With one fan pointing out the statistic, Rhodes responded on social media that he has to get to 100 before the year comes to a close. With numerous TV tapings and live events still yet to take place, Rhodes should have no trouble achieving this accolade.
Will Cody Rhodes Still Be Champion By The End Of The Year?
Although there are no more Premium Live Events scheduled for 2024, there is still one major show as Saturday Night’s Main Event will make its return on December 14th. In what will likely be the main event of the show, Rhodes will put the championship on the line against Kevin Owens after Owens took out Randy Orton earlier in the year.
In a recent interview, Kevin Owens elaborated further on his issues with Cody Rhodes.
