Brock Lesnar is no longer expected to be a part of WrestleMania and was due to be part of a match that many predicted.
Prior to the horrific details of the Vince McMahon lawsuit being made public, many had predicted that Lesnar’s match at WrestleMania would see the former World Champion face Intercontinental Champion Gunther. However, with more details being known, plans have been changed significantly and Lesnar has been removed until further notice.
On January 25th, Vince McMahon was accused of sex trafficking and multiple counts of sexual assault by a former WWE employee. Also cited in the lawsuit was “world-famous athlete and former UFC Heavyweight Champion”, which has been reported by a number of sources as Lesnar. The WWE wrestler was in the process of contract renewal and McMahon used the former WWE employee as a “sexual pawn” to persuade Lesnar to re-sign.
On the day of the Royal Rumble, Brock Lesnar was removed from the match, with sources claiming that the term used was “withdrawn.” As was seen in the Men’s Royal Rumble match, former NXT Champion Bron Breakker entered the match unannounced and showed multiple displays of power, targeting Gunther before being ultimately eliminated by Dominik Mysterio. According to a new report, this was where Lesnar was due to enter the match and Breakker was pretty much given the Lesnar creative in a direct swap.
Multiple Brock Lesnar PLE Matches Cancelled
As reported by Dave Meltzer, Lesnar’s planned creative would have seen the former World Champion face Dominik Mysterio at Elimination Chamber in February before taking on Gunther at WrestleMania. At this point in time these plans are off and it remains unlikely that Lesnar will be factored into either of these shows. It is also unknown whether Breakker will be the direct replacement or if WWE will pivot.
