Bret Hart has once again taken a jab at Goldberg while speaking about the stars of the current era.
The Hitman speaking negatively about Goldberg in an interview is almost as certain as death and taxes, as Hart has had an issue with the fellow Hall of Famer for more than 2 decades. Even though Hart has not wrestled since 2010, he still hits the headlines for his views on notable stars from the past and how the industry has evolved in the modern era. Unsurprisingly, Hart’s latest appearance has once again got fans talking.
Appearing on the Johnny I Pro Show, the former WWE Champion gave his signature thoughts on multiple topics. When present-day wrestling was brought up, Hart admitted that he struggles to watch anything from the modern era, as he finds it to be “too fake” and that many of the stars are just pretending to be wrestlers:
“I have a hard time watching today’s wrestling… It’s too fake for me,” Hart stated. “I think that today’s wrestlers are actors. Most of them are actors pretending to be wrestlers. And, you know, they don’t actually know how to wrestle, and they don’t even know what a headlock is… I see guys throwing punches, and they open their hand at the last second and slap the guy… Why don’t you take 10 minutes and go down have someone teach you how to throw a punch instead of throwing that embarrassment of a punch?”
When asked about missed matches he would have loved to have had, Hart brought up John Cena’s name, while also adding that he would have wanted more matches with The Rock:
“I would love to have wrestled Dwayne Johnson a lot more times… John Cena would be up [there],” Hart said. “I found John Cena was very comparable or similar to me in the sense that he was a serious professional, that he was a detailed guy that went over every little detail in the match.”
“I would like to wrestle Brock Lesnar,” Hart said. “I’ve always heard from different guys that Brock Lesnar is a professional… He’s not like Goldberg. He knows what the wrestling is all about, and he does it right. And some guys like Goldberg never understood it.”
Why Does Bret Hart Hate Goldberg?
Hart has been outspoken about Goldberg for years, believing that the former American football player was an unsafe wrestler who more often than not injured his opponents. At Starrcade 1999, Goldberg delivered a kick to Hart’s head that ultimately forced Hart to retire early. Although Goldberg has apologised multiple times over what happened and stated that it was nothing more than an in-ring accident, Hart has still not forgiven the former WWE and WCW star.
At a previous live show, Hart admitted that he was upset about the fact that his in-ring career ended early and he missed out on multiple paydays, while Goldberg was able to wrestle in Saudi Arabia for millions of dollars.
In a previous interview, Bret Hart gave his honest thoughts on Gunther.
