Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin Win Tag Team Championships On AEW Dynamite

Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin have won their first championships in AEW.

Competing in the opening match of the January 22nd edition of AEW Dynamite, The Hurt Syndicate defeated Private Party to become the new Tag Team Champions. The match saw Lashley hit a spear on Zay to pick up the victory and bring to an end Private Party’s reign at 84 days. MVP celebrated with the new champions after the match.

Although Benjamin has won Tag Team Championships in major promotions numerous times throughout his career, this is the first time that Lashley has held a tag title. Benjamin is now a 6 time Tag Team Champion accross his runs in ROH, WWE and now AEW.

Bobby Lashley And Shelton Benjamin Continue Strong Momentum

Shelton Benjamin made his debut in AEW in October 2024 just a couple of weeks after MVP made his shock arrival in the company at Grand Slam. With MVP and Benjamin both All Elite, fans knew that it would only be a matter of time before Bobby Lashley also made his arrival on the brand, which took place on the October 30th edition of Dynamite. Recruiting and now known as The Hurt Syndicate, the trio has put on many strong showings in the past few months.
