Former WWE Champion has stated that moving forward, Dominik Mysterio should be the only one to do the “Eddie Guerrero spot” moving forward.
Known for lying, cheating and stealing his way to victory multiple times, the late Hall of Famer regularly bent the rules in hilarious ways to swing the match in his favour, sometimes being able to pick up a cheap DQ victory as the referee presumed his opponent had done the damage. Following Guerrero’s passing in 2005, multiple stars have since paid homage to Latino Heat by hitting signature moves such as the 3 Amigos rolling vertical suplex, or hitting the frog splash.
After winning the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 41, Mysterio has used the comedy spot on more than one occasion, most recently in his title defence against Rusev on the September 29 episode of Raw. According to Big E, it’s Mysterio’s to use exclusively moving forward.
Big E Loves The Dominik Mysterio Homages To Eddie Guerrero
While appearing on the Raw Recap, Big E spoke about the recent match between Mysterio and Rusev, adding that only Mysterio could keep the spot so that it is not overdone:
“I love the Eddie spot, but it can lose its appeal if you see it over and over again. I think it’s Dominik’s spot now. I think Dominik has the right to the Eddie spot, and everyone else has to leave it alone. It’s Dom’s exclusively; he’s been killing it, it’s his.”
As many are aware, Mysterio and Guerrero have a history that stretches back to SummerSlam 2005 as part of a storyline between Guerrero and Dominik’s father, Rey Mysterio. After Eddie claimed that he was really Dom’s father, the infamous Custody of Dominik ladder match was set up for SummerSlam that year, which saw Rey Mysterio emerge victorious.
