A grudge match and more headlined the August 6 edition of AEW Dynamite.
With MJF and Mark Briscoe at each other’s throats over the past few weeks, both men looked to settle their differences in the ring in the main event of the show. Additionally, Mercedes Mone found out who one of her challengers would be for Forbidden Door, The Young Bucks were in action and more.
Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz were on commentary for the show.
AEW Dynamite Results August 6
- MJF kicked off the show backstage, cutting a promo on Mark Briscoe, promising to win the main event.
- Jon Moxley defeated “Speedball” Mike Bailey.
- Alex Windsor defeated Billie Starkz, Queen Aminata and Skye Blue to qualify for the Forbidden Door TBS Championship 4-Way. After the match, Mercedes Mone laid out Windsor and Athena laid out Toni Storm.
- The Don Callis Family appeared live to celebrate Kyle Fletcher’s recent TNT Championship win.
- Adam Copeland revealed he would be fighting Stokely Hathaway next week, and FTR’s no physicality agreement would be void if they got involved.
- Bandido and Brody King defeated The Young Bucks to advance to the finals of the World Tag Team Championships Eliminator Tournament.
- Renee Paquette interviewed Swerve Strickland, who vowed to defeat Kazuchika Okada at Forbidden Door.
- MJF defeated Mark Briscoe, but Briscoe had hit foot on the rope that the referee did not see. MJF continued to beat down Briscoe after the match, but Adam Page made the save.
