All Elite Wrestling made its debut in Scotland for the August 20 edition of AEW Dynamite.
Emanating from the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, the latest episode of Dynamite also served as the go-home show for Forbidden Door, which will air live from the O2 Arena in London on Sunday, August 24. With Adam Page set to defend his World Championship against MJF in the main event of the show, “Hangman” made a live appearance in front of the fans to discuss the upcoming match.
Also set to take place at Forbidden Door is an all-star lights out steel cage match, which is expected to be as brutal and violent as the Blood and Guts match. Will Ospreay met Jon Moxley face-to-face on the show to give the fans a taste of what to expect.
Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Bryan Danielson were on commentary for the show.
AEW Dynamite Results August 20:
- Guest commentator Bryan Danielson was introduced to the fans before Will Ospreay officially kicked off the show.
- Will Ospreay admitted that he is still not cleared to compete, but he would be in action at Forbidden Door as the match is not sanctioned. Jon Moxley arrived with Marina Shafir, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta, which was then followed by Kevin Knight, “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Hiroshi Tanahashi to even the odds.
- Kevin Knight, “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta.
- Tony Schiavone interviewed Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, who appeared to have put aside their differences for Forbidden Door. Kip Sabian and Mother Wayne interrupted, stating the Nick Wayne is not cleared to compete as he has a broken foot. Wayne then introduced his replacement, the returning Luchasaurus.
- FTR vs. Brodido ended in a time-limit draw, meaning that both teams will challenge The Hurt Sydicate for the Tag Team Championships at Forbidden Door.
- Adam Page appeared live but was interrupted to MJF, who threatened to set Mark Briscoe on fire unless he agreed to the following 3 conditions:
- The title can change hands by disqualification.
- The title can changes hands by count-out.
- MJF did not need to execute his contract to get his match at Forbidden Door.
- Page agreed to the terms above.
- Athena and Meredes Mone defeated Toni Storm and Alex Windsor.
