The show hit headlines before it even went on the air as it was announced ahead of time that The Young Bucks would present footage from All In, which was where the backstage altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry took place. Although Punk is no longer in AEW, the footage would end all speculation as to what took place.

Additionally, the TNT Championship was on the line as Adam Copeland defended the title against Penta El Zero Miedo.

The Following Results Took Place On AEW Dynamite:

  • Samoa Joe made his entrance for the AEW Title Eliminator match but was jumped by Swerve Strickland
  • Adam Copeland defended the TNT Championship against Penta El Zero Miedo. After the match, Julia Hart distracted Copeland so that Brody King could attack. Willow Nightingale attacked Hart so that King was distracted and Copeland could stand tall.
  • The Young Bucks presented Footage from All In. The clip saw a very brief altercation between Punk and Perry before both men were separated. Punk was not named but The Young Bukcs implied that the altercation was set up to distract them from their match that took place later in the night.
  • FTR came to the ring and said that everyone was ready to move on from what took place
  • Shane Taylor Promotions defeated Hook, Chris Jericho and Katsuyori Shibata
  • Will Ospreay cut a promo which took a shot at Triple H
  • Kazuchika Okada won a squash match. PAC approached Okada after the match before being attacked by The Young Bucks. FTR came to the aid of PAC. Okada used a chair to gain an advantage
  • Toni Storm’s toast saw the Women’s Champion throw champagne in the face of Thunder Rosa
  • Mariah May defeated Anna Jay
  • Samoa Joe defeated Dustin Rhodes. After the match, Strickland attacked Joe once again and stood tall with the championship.
