Adam Copeland has addressed the fans who have an issue with his upcoming match being on free TV.

On December 6th, Copeland will finally get the opportunity to face Christian Cage one-on-one in Montreal Canada. As an added bonus, Cage’s TNT Championship will be on the line, meaning that Copeland could win his first AEW Championship in front of his native fans.

While many are excited about the match, others believe that due to the magnitude of the rivalry it should be saved for the grander stage of an AEW pay-per-view. According to Copeland, Montreal is the priority.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Copeland addressed the fans who want to wait for the big match to take place. The Rated R Superstar explained why Montreal is the place for the showdown:

“I’ve heard, ‘Why isn’t this at the pay-per-view?’” said Copeland. “To me, where is more important than when. We get to do it in Montreal. There’s no other choice for us but to have it here. My family is coming for this one, cousins and relatives who’ve known Jay for years.

The Hall of Famer continued, noting how this is the match that he has always wanted:

“There’s something special about doing it in Canada. I am really, really amped up to do this one. I truly think there’s not another story like ours, with this real story. Two friends from Orangeville, Ontario, who made it where we made it because of each other. I’m hoping this is a rabid crowd. This is what I dreamed of–working that guy in Montreal for a championship.”
