WWE Hall of Famer “Superstar” Billy Graham sadly passed away on Wednesday May 17th 2023 at the age of 79 following a battle with multiple health issues.
The news was first broken by long-time friend Ric Flair, who announced the news on social media.
Born Eldridge Wayne Coleman, Graham made his name in the AWA territory, becoming a pioneer of the bodybuilding physique frequently seen in wrestling to this day. The WWE Hall of Famer would complete the iconic look with dyed hair and tie-dyed tights. The combination of physique and colourful attire would influence future stars of the industry such as Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair.
In 1977, Graham would reach the epitome of his career, defeating Bruno Sammartino to become the new World Champion. The WWE Hall of Famer would hold the championship for nearly a year.
“Superstar” Billy Graham’s achievements were recognised in 2004, where the former champion was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fane by Triple H.
Features of Wrestling would like to send their condolences to the friends and family of “Superstar” Billy Graham at this time.
