A new world championship has been introduced in WWE.
Triple H appeared live on the April 24th edition of Raw, teasing a major announcement in the advertising leading up to the segment.
The Game referenced the WWE Draft, which takes place on the April 28th episode of SmackDown and concludes on the May 1st episode of Raw. The WWE Hall of Famer hyped the draft before turning his attention to the lengthy title reign of Roman Reigns.
Triple H acknowledged Reigns’ near 1000 day run as Universal Champion. It was then revealed that due to strong negotiating powers, Reigns does not have to defend the title as frequently, which was not received well by the Chicago crowd.
Leading into what the big announcement would be, it was then revealed that whichever brand Roman Reigns is drafted to, The Tribal Chief would stay on that brand. With the exclusivity meaning that one brand would be without a champion, Triple H admitted that the WWE Universe deserved better.
The new champion will be determined at the May 27th Night of Champions Premium Live Event, which was followed by the unveiling of the new World Heavyweight Championship.
The design is similar to the World Heavyweight Championship back in 2002, but with the WWE logo added on the main plate.
