Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have brought the historic tag team title reign of The Usos to an end.
In what was a historic main event for a number of reasons, Zayn would hit 3 consecutive Helluva Kicks onto Jey Uso to win the match and the championships for his team, much to the rapture of the crowd in SoFi Stadium.
The match itself would see The Usos use their lengthy experience as a team to dominate most of the match. With multiple nearfalls and even a 1D hit onto Zayn, the match appeared to be over on multiple occasions. However, close kickouts would keep the drama alive, with Zayn being the first person ever to kick out of The Uso’s finisher.
In the lengthy history of WrestleMania, this is the first time that the tag team championships have main evented the show, and it is also the first time that a wrestler of Syrian descent, Sami Zayn, has been involved in the last match of the show.
Despite both Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn holding multiple singles championships while in WWE, this is the first time that either man has held tag team gold while on Raw, SmackDown or NXT. The victory ends the 622 day reign of The Usos as champions, which now stands as the longest singular reign with the titles in WWE history.
