A controversial ending to a match will be settled on the March 17th edition of SmackDown.

The March 10th episode would see a Fatal 5-Way match take place, where the winner would go on to challenge Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania.

The match would come to the shocking conclusion when Drew McIntyre and Sheamus would each pin an opponent at the same time, giving both men the apparent victory. To settle the confusion, WWE Official Adam Pearce has declared that McIntyre and Sheamus will go one-on-one on the upcoming episode. The winner will go on to compete for the IC Title at WrestleMania.

The number one contenders match is the only officially announced match to take place on the March 17th edition of SmackDown at the time of writing.

While not announced, there is a possibility that additional WWE Hall of Fame inductees will be announced for the 2023 class. Rey Mysterio was officially announced as the first entrant on the March 10th episode.
