John Cena will keep the match streak alive.
Competing in at least one match every year since 2002, Cena will be having his first WWE match of 2023 at WrestleMania 39, challenging Austin Theory for the United States Championship.
Cena appeared on the March 6th edition of Raw, interrupted by Theory almost immediately. The US Champion laid down the challenge for a title match on the grandest stage, but the 16 time world champion initially refused, stating that Theory is not ready to take on Cena.
Becasue Theory initially asked the Boston crowd if they wanted to see John Cena vs. Austin Theory at WrestleMania, Cena repeated the question to the WWE Universe. Following a cheer from the crowd, Cena accepted the challenge.
The updated line-up for WrestleMania is as follows:
- Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Rhea Ripley – Singles match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
- Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes – Singles match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship
