Matches Announced For 3/2/23 SmackDown

WWE have announced a championship match and the conclusion of a tournament will be taking place on the February 3rd edition of SmackDown.

The show will be broadcast live from the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina. On top of the two announced matches, the show will focus on the fallout from the Royal Rumble event.

SmackDown Women’s Championship On The Line

Charlotte Flair has been targeted by Sonya Deville ever since The Queen defeated Ronda Rousey to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. Deville’s persistence has proved to be effective, as Flair has granted a title match to take place on February 3rd.

The finals of the SmackDown Tag Title Tournament will take place following the series of events that took place on the January 27th show. The first semi-final match was supposed to be Sheamus and Drew McIntyre taking on Hit Row. However, The Viking Raiders would attack McIntyre and Sheamus during the entrances. As a result, the team of the former WWE Champions would go after The Viking Raiders, forfeiting their place in the tournament.

Hit Row thought they would advance without competing, but WWE Official Adam Pearce had other ideas. The substitute team of Braun Strowman and Ricochet would instead compete in the semi-finals, and would defeat Hit Row to advance to the finals. Ricochet and Braun Strowman will face Imperium in the finals, who defeated Legado Del Fantasma in their semi-final match.

The winners of the tournament will face The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships in the future.

The following matches and segments have been announced to take place on the February 3rd episode of SmackDown:

  • The fallout from the Royal Rumble
  • Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Sonya Deville – Singles match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship
  • Braun Strowman and Ricochet vs. Imperium – Final match in the SmackDown Tag Team Title Tournament.
