A contract signing and the start of a tournament are amongst the highlights of the January 20th edition of SmackDown.
The show will be broadcast live from the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan, and will continue the build to the Royal Rumble.
At the Royal Rumble, Kevin Owens will challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. To make the match official, a contract signing will be taking place on the show.
With The Usos’ Raw Tag Team Championships at stake on the 30th anniversary edition of Raw, as they will be challenged by The Judgment Day, the fate of the SmackDown titles is also due to be decided. A tournament will be taking place where the winner will challenge Jimmy and Jey at a future date. Round one of the tournament will see Sheamus and Drew McIntyre face off against The Viking Raiders.

- Rey Mysterio vs. Karrion Kross
- Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens to sign the contract to make their match at the Royal Rumble official
- Drew McIntyre and Sheamus vs. The Viking Raiders
